In order to create this project, I started by thinking about what I loved. I've always been into classic cars, and Roblox has managed to be a good vessel for that. I had been making cars and taking photos of them prior to this project, and decided to showcase it.
To start, the model of the car is put into Blender. Here, it is separated into many individual pieces, so that they can be colored properly and brought into Roblox. Once imported, the car is given a chassis from one of my donors. Using specifications from the internet, I tune the stats of the car to the real life numbers, via the code. Once the car is tuned, I make a new workspace, and begin building the scenery. This is dependent on both the car, and the general theme I'm going for. In this case, I wanted a rainy, riverside dirt road. |

Project Reflection During the course of this project, I learned a few valuable lessons. The first is that anything can be art. This can be a passion, an adventure, some apple you took a bite of; there's beauty in everything.
Second, try new things. Recently, Roblox got a new lighting update, which makes the cars look far better than they did before. With this addition, I wanted to test the new lighting with some rainy shots. With a little patience and tinkering, anything new can come out great. Finally, time management is everything. Even with art, having a good schedule can make a huge difference. By laying out my schedule into different sections (exporting, importing, tuning, scene building, etc.), a big project suddenly becomes a lot easier. Overall, I'm very pleased with how this project turned out. With the support of my teacher, I was able to demonstrate and display my passion through the use of photos, along with a video covering the process. If there's one thing I would do differently next time, it would be to get the project turned in earlier! |
